Houston, TX – Houston Safari Club (HSC) is pleased to announce its entertainment lineup for their 2018 Worldwide Hunting Expo and Convention. The 2018 HSC Expo has doubled in size, featuring over 260 exhibitors and three fundraising banquets!

The Friday night banquet will feature The Bellamy Brothers. For more than 30 years, the Bellamy Brothers have been an unassuming picture of consistency in Country music, crafting honest, heartfelt songs that connect with millions of listeners around the world. Even more remarkable is the fact that they’ve remained relevant in a genre that has become increasingly enamored with style over substance, glitz over grit, and fleeting celebrity over artistic vision. Yet Howard and David Bellamy have weathered the trends admirably, enjoying enormous success throughout their career with numerous No. 1 hits on both the Pop and Country charts.

Country music artist Roger Creager will be the feature entertainment for Saturday night. Roger is an adventurist; he does not like to sit still while the world passes by. Whether it’s climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, jumping off his boat to snorkel with wild dolphins, snow skiing in the Rockies, catching tuna 100 miles from shore, piloting his airplane to far-‐off concerts, spear-‐fishing around oil rigs, scuba diving coral reefs, surfing in Costa Rica, or playing music through the Italian countryside, he tries to get the most out of what the world has to offer. All of this finds its way into Roger’s music and live shows. His passion for life invigorates everyone around him including his fan base. Those who get hooked on his charisma and high energy come back show after show, year after year, and record after record.

Houston Safari Club’s Annual Worldwide Convention and Conservation Expo celebrates wildlife, wild places and the sporting lifestyle for thousands of visitors and exhibitors. The three-day event will feature hundreds of exhibitors from South Texas to South Africa and everywhere in between. In addition, HSC will host incredible fundraising events including a weekend long silent auction on the Expo hall floor, the new Thursday Night Expo Preview & Exhibitor Appreciation Reception- a chance to be among the few that have an exclusive “sneak peek” of the expo hall, Friday Night Banquet & Hunting Awards, Saturday Gazelles Luncheon and the Saturday Night Grand Gala.

The event will take place January 26-28, 2018 in its new 104,000 sq. ft. home – downtown Houston at the George R. Brown (GRB) Convention Center. Hilton Americas-Houston will be the location for all banquets and luncheons. Register now to take advantage of early bird pricing for banquet and expo tickets: houstonsafariclub.org/convention/attendees/. HSC sincerely thanks its Convention sponsors: Wildlife Partners, Capital Farm Credit, Enterprise Products Partners L.P., Conroe Taxidermy, S&B Engineers, Chattaronga, WELL Worldwide Energy Logistics and NRA Women’s Leadership Forum.

Houston, TX – Houston Safari Club (HSC) is proud to announce its continued support of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) at two of its upcoming events, the 28th Annual Banquet & Auction in Washington, DC and the 5th Annual Texas Bass, Bucks & Boots event in Houston, Texas. Both events help the CSF continue its efforts to work with Congress, governors, and state legislatures to protect and advance hunting, angling, recreational shooting and trapping.

The 28th Annual Banquet & Auction brings together the outdoor sporting community, supporters, and friends of CSF in Washington, DC on September 13, 2017. HSC is proud to attend the 5th Annual Texas Bass, Bucks & Boots as a co-host sponsor. The event takes place on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at The Houstonian Hotel, Club and Spa in Houston, Texas and will feature a reception, live & silent auction, dinner and raffle. Houston Safari Club recently signed on to the following letter in support for S.1514, the “Hunting Heritage and Environmental Legacy Preservation for Wildlife Act” or “HELP for Wildlife Act.”

July 14, 2017

The Honorable John Barrasso
Chairman
U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works
Washington, DC 20510

Dear Chairman Barrasso and Senators Cardin, Boozman, Klobuchar, Capito, and Baldwin,
Thank you for introducing S. 1514, the Hunting Heritage and Environmental Legacy Preservation for Wildlife Act (“HELP for Wildlife”). This is a truly bipartisan bill that includes a range of provisions designed to improve the management of fish, wildlife, habitat, and outdoor recreation including hunting and fishing. On behalf of the millions of hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts from all 50 states represented by our organizations, we express our support for the HELP Act and your bipartisan efforts to advance the interests of sportsmen and women.
HELP for Wildlife would reauthorize important conservation programs including the North American Wetlands Conservation Act, the Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act, and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. It would establish a National Fish Habitat Conservation Act to conserve fish and fish habitat through partnerships that enhance fish and wildlife-dependent recreation. HELP for Wildlife prioritizes recovery of the Chesapeake Bay by reauthorizing the Chesapeake Bay Program and Chesapeake Bay Initiative through 2022. The Chesapeake is our nation’s largest estuary and a legendary fishing, boating, and waterfowl hunting location. These programs provide funds for a regional partnership that coordinates the ongoing restoration of the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed, and they support the Chesapeake Bay Gateways and Watertrails Network.
HELP for Wildlife would provide funding and support for the construction and expansion of public target ranges on national forests and Bureau of Land Management lands. Public ranges are in short supply in many areas and this bill would help meet the increasing demand for safe places to shoot. In addition, expanded recreational shooting infrastructure will help generate additional conservation revenue by facilitating shooting sports activities that are fundamentally linked to dedicated excise taxes on firearms, ammunition and archery equipment through Wildlife Restoration program.
HELP for Wildlife makes sure normal agricultural practices are not mischaracterized as otherwise prohibited attempts to bait migratory game birds. It also exempts lead sport fishing equipment from regulation under the Toxic Substances Control Act. Finally, it affirms previously issued U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service rules to remove wolves in the Great Lakes and Wyoming from the Endangered Species Act, returning management of these populations to state wildlife agencies.
We applaud your leadership on this bipartisan conservation and outdoor recreation bill. We also encourage your collaboration with your colleagues in the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources in order to get the best ideas from both committees and ensure the greatest likelihood one or more packages of sportsmen bills becoming law.
Sincerely,
