Houston, TX (April 04, 2019) – Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is now accepting collegiate scholarship applications for its annual Dan L Duncan Scholarship award program. Houston Safari Club Foundation is committed to furthering the education of students pursuing a career in conservation. Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) proudly presents the Dan L. Duncan Scholarship Program. HSCF annually awards scholarships to students currently involved in the study of Wildlife Management, Range Management or related studies. Since the program’s inception in 1999, 525 scholarships have been awarded, totaling almost $2.25 million dollars. Houston Safari Club Applauds President Trump’s Nomination of David Bernhardt For Secretary of Interior

(Houston, TX-February 8, 2019) Houston Safari Club (HSC) is supportive of the nomination of David Bernhardt, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior, for the position of Secretary for the Department. In a brief statement posted to Twitter, Bernhardt said it’s “a humbling privilege to be nominated to lead a Department whose mission I love, to accomplish the balanced, common sense vision of our President.” Bernhardt, an attorney from Colorado, has served as the deputy secretary of the Interior Department since August 2017. Before joining the Trump administration, Bernhardt was a lawyer for the Interior Department under President George W. Bush. HSC President, Mitzy McCorvey states, “I would like to congratulate and support Deputy Secretary David Bernhardt for his nomination for Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior. He is in sync with ideas that we, as conservationists and sport hunters, would like to see going forward.

Houston Safari Club Foundation Wraps Up Successful 2019 Convention

(Houston, TX-February 6, 2019) – Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) has completed another successful annual Hunting Expo and Convention. HSCF’s annual Convention was held January 25-27, 2019 at the George R Brown Convention Center and Hilton Americas-Houston hotel. Complete with banquets, auctions, raffles and live entertainment, the event is HSCF’s largest annual fundraiser. With almost 300 exhibitors, the Expo has doubled in size in just two years. In addition, all three fundraising banquets were at capacity. Funds raised at Convention support HSCF’s scholarship, youth education and grants programs. Paul Bamber, Wanganui Safaris, named 2019 HSCF PH of the Year

  Houston, TX- – Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is pleased to announce Paul Bamber of Wanganui Safaris as the 2019 HSCF Professional Hunter of the Year. Paul Bamber grew up on a remote family farm at Jerusalem, on the Wanganui River, farming sheep and cattle. Paul developed a love of hunting at the age of 10 when his dad gave him his .303 to hunt a big boar his sheep dogs were bailing. From that day forward, whenever Paul wasn’t at school, he hunted goats, pigs and deer as well as trapping possums for money in the winter. With huge areas of bush surrounding their farm, and no predators, it was a constant battle to keep wild animal numbers from taking over the land they farmed.
