Houston Safari Club Foundation Awards Annual Scholarships

Houston, TX –Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF), is proud to announce the award of twenty-five (25) scholarships as part of its Dan L. Duncan Scholarship Program. The winners were chosen from hundreds of extremely qualified applicants. Recipients must have a desire to protect and promote the sport of hunting and the principles of conservation. Applicants for these scholarships are undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Wildlife Management and/or Range Management. Recipients also demonstrate academic excellence, leadership qualities and complete a thorough application process including recommendations, transcript reviews, and in some cases, providing thesis information.   The HSCF/DLD Scholarship Selection Committee awarded twenty-five (25), $6,000 scholarships, totaling $150,000. To date, HSCF has awarded 550 scholarships totaling $2.4 million dollars. Houston, TX –Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is pleased to announce it has joined forces with Republic Country Club to present “The Huntin’ & Outdoor Show” event on Saturday, September 14th, 2019, 12pm-6pm. “The Huntin’ & Outdoor Show” is presented as a kickoff party for hunting season in Texas! Live music, delicious BBQ, vendors and more! Exhibitors from the Houston area and beyond will be on hand to present hunting and fishing gear and trips, outdoor gear and more for the outdoor enthusiast. Houston, TX –Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is pleased to announce their annual Sporting Clays Tournament. The 2019 HSCF Sporting Clays Tournament will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019, at Greater Houston Sports Club. Join us for a great day of shooting & fellowship. Experienced and novice shooters alike are encouraged to attend. The shoot is open to the general public and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit fundraising event. Bring your colleagues, clients, family and friends out for a fun day of shooting and fundraising for a truly worthy cause. HSCF will proudly host and recognize Veterans that have participated in HSCF outdoor excursions over the past year as well as area youth shooting teams. Come out and cheer them on! Houston Safari Club Lauds Remarks by President Trump on America’s Environmental Leadership

Houston, TX –Houston Safari Club (HSC) was proud to be present on July 8th, 2019, as President Trump provided updates on the administration’s policies to advance environmental protection while promoting economic growth. President Trump stressed the United States’ successful initiatives in economic growth and energy production with simultaneous advancements in conservation, recreational access of public lands, and the restoration and protection of U.S. land, air, and waters. Conducted in the east wing of the White House, HSC, represented by Executive Director Joe Betar, attended the conference alongside other leaders in conservation, Cabinet Members and Agency Secretaries. In attendance and providing remarks was U.S. Secretary of the Environmental Protection Agency, Andrew Wheeler, U.S. Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, Steve Mnuchin, and U.S. Secretary of Energy, Rick Perry.
