Matters” welcomes outdoor personality Razor Dobbs. To say Razor is a passionate hunter is an understatement.

A survivor of a wild boar attack and a nearly fatal elephant charge, he lives the highs and perils of hunting that he dreamed about when he was a kid. Razor is recognized for being one of the most talented pistol hunters on the planet. The book, The Custom 1911, published by Gun Digest, states that Razor is a “Handgun Hunting Sensation” due to his 20 years of successfully taking a huge number of game including being the first person to kill an African Cape Buffalo with a 10mm auto pistol (Razor has killed two Cape buffalo with the 10mm auto pistol). Razor has taken more big game with the 10mm auto pistol than anyone. Over the past 25 years of hunting with the 10mm auto, Razor has successfully hunted desert mule deer, elk, whitetail, Cape buffalo, nilgai antelope, zebra, hogs, turkey, waterbuck, wildebeest, red lechwe, gemsbok, springbok, and many other species.

The Guardians of Hunting Program provides an opportunity for donors to support the mission of HSCF. Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve the sport of hunting through education, conservation, and the promotion of our hunting heritage. Quite simply, we work on behalf of hunters to promote the future of hunting, wildlife, and habitat. HSCF has provided over $2.5 million in scholarships, over $4 million in conservation grants, and annually provides hunting immersion and education programs to hundreds of young adults.

Houston Safari Club Foundation is pleased to announce it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Ashby Bowhunting Foundation. The MOU signifies a collaborative partnership between the organizations to advance conservation goals and benefit sportsmen and women. The Ashby Bowhunting Foundation’s goal is to provide the bowhunter with the information to achieve highest possible success rate and reduce the wound/non-recovery rate of big game to the lowest level possible. As the world struggles with the pandemic known as COVID-19, the Kingdom Zoo Wildlife Center® is inspired to take action for kids.

“We know many kids are being impacted by the coronavirus and we want to give them some inspiration,” said co-founder and Houston Safari Club Foundation member Chester Moore.

“Our program Wild Wishes® grants wildlife encounters to children with a critical illness or loss of a parent or sibling. And if there is anything critical out there now it is this virus. Unfortunately we can’t go visit kids or have them come to us now, but we can go to them-through Facebook’s Facetime and other applications.”

Any animal-loving child up to 18 years of age who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or is quarantined due to someone living in their home having it now qualifies for a special outreach.

“We will work with their families to schedule live video encounters with our animals. We will let them even interact with us and some of our animals and have a special look at the Kingdom Zoo Wildlife Center’s amazing creatures. We will send them a few cool items as part of a special care package as well,” Moore said.
