Houston Safari Club is excited to announce our first combination goose and duck hunt weekend in Lavaca County, Texas! Get ready for a great weekend of waterfowling fun!

The duck hunting package includes bird hunting on Saturday and Sunday, meals and snacks (ribeye steaks, fish fry, water, tea, and sodas provided), bird cleaning and packaging, and a big screen with cable TV and WiFi are available so that you don’t have to miss any of your favorite college football games!

Other activities include bass fishing, doe and spike hunts, and skeet shooting.

The goose hunting package will include the same amenities as the duck hunt, but goose hunters will arrive on Friday morning.

 

Schedule:

  • Friday, November 17th (morning): Goose hunters arrive for morning hunt
  • Friday, November 17th (afternoon): Duck hunters arrive after 3 p.m., hunting will begin Saturday morning
  • Saturday & Sunday: Morning duck hunts
  • Depart for home after lunch on Sunday.

 

 

 

 

Prices:

  • Duck Hunting Package: $720 for members, $820 for non-members
    (2 days of hunting & accommodations)
  • Goose Hunting Package: $995 for members, $1095 for non-members
    (3 days of hunting & accommodations)
  • Bass Fishing: Free of charge (catch & release)
  • Doe & Spike Hunts: $500 each with guide
  • Skeet Shooting: $20 for first round, $15 for second round (shells included)

Location:

  • Camp will be based at The Vick Ranch, Lavaca County, TX.
  • Hunting will occur between the Vick Ranch & El Campo, TX. 
  • Directions available here. (Approximately 2.5 hrs from Houston, west of El Campo, TX)

More Info:

Alcohol will not be available on site, but we do allow BYOB for those would like a cocktail after your hunt.  
 
Rocky Creek Outfitters recommends 12ga (20 ga is fine for ducks), 3″ shells (#2 or #4 shot for ducks, #BB for geese). Shells will be available for sale at the lodge. 2-3 boxes of ammo per hunt.
 
Rubber boots or lightweight waders are recommended. No extreme wading, but insects and weather might make it more comfortable. Goose hunting may be wet so rain pants or lightweight waders are recommended. 
 
Dogs are welcome. Maximum of 2 dogs on a hunt. Must bring a portable kennel to keep dogs in at night. Dog friendly, but NO dogs allowed inside lodge. No exceptions
 
Current hunting license, waterfowl stamps, and plugged guns are mandatory.
