Masters of science in wildlife, aquatic, and wildlands science.
I am currently working on obtaining my masters degree in wildlife, aquatic, and wildlands science at Texas Tech University. Recently, I was accepted into the Geographic Information Systems & Technology certificate program for graduate students at Texas Tech. I am planning to complete the certificate and graduate with my master’s degree in May 2023. I am currently taking raptor ecology, advanced fisheries management, and a statistics class this Fall. I really enjoy the classes I’m taking this semester, but my favorite right now is raptor ecology. I am excited to learn more about these incredible species. Soon, we will be going on a field trip to Corpus Christi Texas to watch the raptor migration. I am excited to ID new species, learn how to properly capture and handle them, and finally see the incredible sight of so many birds of prey in mass. Before this semester, I never really thought about raptor migrations but now I can’t wait to see it in person.
I am currently one of two lab TAs for NRM 1401, an introductory course on Natural Resources Management for both majors and non-majors. We have just completed our first lab of the semester at the TTU Native Rangeland. We are preparing for our most favored Junction lab in
Junction Texas at the Outdoor Learning Cent and Home of the Llano River Field Station. There is a lot that goes into preparing and organizing the labs but overall working with the students, volunteers, and the NRM 1401 team is really rewarding. One of my favorite parts is seeing a whole new world open before the students, one that they never knew about before our course and are excited to learn and be a part of.
