HSCF Life Member Byron Sadler has hunted the world over during his lifetime. At age 79, he took on the challenge of climbing Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro. With his son by his side, Byron reached Kilimanjaro’s Uhuru Peak in seven days. Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa, and the highest free-standing peak in the world. Mount Kilimanjaro is considered a stratovolcano, made up of layers of hardened lava, volcanic ash, and tephra, forming three separate volcanic peaks. Located on the volcanic cone Kibo, as part of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Uhuru Peak is the highest free-standing peak in Africa at 5,895 meters above sea level. Do not miss the opportunity to hear about Byron’s incredible adventure.
