Suzanne Hixson

Suzanne is a proud HSCF Life Member. Although she traveled extensively as an observer and photographer on hunts worldwide, Suzanne only took up a rifle later in life and discovered an immediate connection to pursuing prey from the perspective of a hunter.

An ardent believer in the WE HUNT, WE GIVE philosophy, Suzanne and her partner James participate annually in dental and optical clinics in rural Zimbabwe and collaborate with other organizations to promote education and wildlife conservation projects.  Suzanne founded Umtopi, LLC with a goal to provide a market for talented artists and craftsmen from underdeveloped communities to sell their goods.  Her mission is to provide employment opportunities and to re-invest back into those communities.

Suzanne is a native Texan and a graduate of Texas A&M University.  Her career and volunteer history includes working with the Sam Houston Area Council of the Boys Scouts of America, The Montgomery County Cattle Barons Ball, The Houston Methodist Hospital Neurological Institute National Council, and as an ambassador with The Camelthorn Foundation.

Suzanne feels that a primary duty of HSCF board members is to gather feedback and represent the values of our members.  She strongly respects the founders and the mission of our club.  Recognizing the challenges which threaten our lifestyle, Suzanne supports the efforts we have made to recruit and involve members of all ages so that our future as a club and as defenders of our rights as hunters and conservationists continues.
