Year Received: 2022

Bachelor/Forestry/Agroforestry concentration

My name is Marc Moss, and I am currently a senior at Stephen F. Austin State University majoring in forestry with an emphasis in agroforestry. I have enjoyed the outdoors since a young age because of an enduring curiosity about how the natural world works. The interest I had as a child developed into a love for the outdoor world, so I became involved in the FFA and Boy Scouts of America right away. In high school I competed in the Wildlife and Habitat Management CDE as an FFA member, that competition opened my eyes to the idea of wildlife biology as a career. In the fall of 2020, I moved to Nacogdoches, Texas to attend SFA for my bachelor’s degree. During my two years at SFA so far, I have developed a critical thinking attitude towards current wildlife management issues and established friendships with multiple natural resource professionals to give me guidance for the future. In the summer of 2021, I worked as an intern for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department at Alazan Bayou WMA. I plan to start an undergraduate research project in September 2022 and complete another wildlife-based internship in the summer of 2023.
