(Houston, TX- October 8, 2020) Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) and ‘Hunting Matters’ welcomes Tim Knesik and Mike Tippit of Capital Farm Credit. Tim Knesek is the Capital Farm Credit Market President for the Houston Sales Region which is made up of 14 lending offices located within the Southeastern part of Texas.  Tim began his career with the Farm Credit System in 1987 working in the South Texas market area before moving to the La Grange office in 1995 where he focused on lending in the Houston/San Antonio/Austin triangle.  In January 2020, Tim began leading the 14-office sales team which serves the Houston Market footprint.  Tim obtained his undergraduate and his graduate degrees from Texas A&M University. Tim and his wife Susan live on their small farm near La Grange and have two adult daughters, Jordan, and Madison.  Both daughters, and grandson Hudson, have enjoyed many hours with Tim sharing

(Houston, TX- October 1, 2020) Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) and ‘Hunting Matters’ welcomes Carter Smith, Executive Director of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. A native of Central Texas, Smith developed his passion for wildlife and the out-of-doors at a young age while roaming his family’s farm and ranchland interests in Gonzales, Williamson, and Edwards Counties. He has a wildlife management degree from Texas Tech and a master’s degree in conservation biology from Yale University. As a wildlife biologist, he has worked on projects across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. He serves on a number of conservation-related boards and advisory councils, including the Texas Land Trust Council and the Katy Prairie Conservancy. As the past Chairman of the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, he currently serves on the Executive Committee of that association and is the former President of the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. (Houston, TX- August 24, 2020) Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) announced today that it had received a grant $45,239 from The MidwayUSA Foundation in support of HSCF’s youth and shooting sports education and outreach programs. The MidwayUSA Foundation has been a long-time supporter of HSCF’s youth programs include the Youth Wildlife Conservation Experience (YWCE) conducted at HSCF’s Annual Worldwide Hunting Expo & Convention. Through this program, HSCF annually hosts hundreds of area high school students for a day of career introductions to outdoor-related professions. HSCF also provides and supports various programs which introduce a new generation of young people to the outdoors. These programs include interactive experiences in the classroom, in the field and on the water. HSCF also provides ongoing support of high school and collegiate competitive shooting teams. Rob Wallace, Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks, currently oversees policy and personnel for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Parks Service. In his previous work in the private sector, Wallace was focused on working with ranchers, energy companies, conservationists, and regulators to balance the needs of conservation and energy development in the West. A native of Evanston, Wyoming and graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Wallace’s government experience includes time as both a seasonal ranger and, later in his career, assistant director of Legislative and Congressional Affairs for the National Park Service.  He has been chief of staff to U.S. Sen.
