HSC Provides Support for Conservation Force

HSC continued its support of Conservation Force with a grant renewal of $25,000. HSC is one of the founding supporters of Conservation Force, which it has funded since 1997. Conservation Force is a charitable foundation dedicated to conservation of wildlife, wild places and the outdoor way of life. Its name and its theme, “hunters are the force” stand for three forces. First, that hunters and anglers are an indispensable and essential force for wildlife conservation. Second, that Conservation Force is a collaborative effort combining forces of a consortium of organizations and, third, that Conservation Force itself is a proactive force to be reckoned with because of its record of conservation successes.

HSC 2015 Annual Worldwide Hunting Expo and Convention

Houston, TX – Houston Safari Club (HSC) is proud to announce its 2015 Annual Worldwide Hunting Expo and Convention, scheduled for January 23-25, 2015 in The Woodlands, Texas at the Woodlands Waterway Marriott. HSC’s annual convention showcases wildlife, wild places and the sporting lifestyle for thousands of visitors and exhibitors from around the globe. The three-day long exposition will feature hundreds of hunting, gear and luxury exhibits from South Texas to South Africa and everywhere in between. 

HSC Provides Grant To Operation Game Thief’s Anti-Poaching Effort

HSC is pleased to announce the award of a $10,000 grant to the Texas Parks and Wildlife’s Operation Game Thief.  Operation Game Thief (OGT) is one of the nation’s top wildlife crime-stopper programs. OGT provides a unique reporting and reward system to help curtail the unlawful harvest of Texas’ wildlife. In addition, OGT provides support for educational programs presented by game wardens and the expansion of technology and training. The HSC grant will be utilized to help fund OGT’s ongoing billboard marketing program, increasing the reach and awareness of OGT. The grant was provided through HSC’s affiliate organization, The American Conservation and Education Society (ACES).

HSC Provides Grant To NRA Foundation In Support Of Youth Hunter Education

Houston, TX – Houston Safari Club (HSC) has provided a grant to The NRA Foundation in support of their Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) program. The grant was specifically provided through HSC’s affiliate organization, The American Conservation and Education Society (ACES). The donation, in the amount of $10,000, will be used to help promote the expansion of the YHEC program. The YHEC program has reached an estimated 15,000 young hunters annually since its inception in 1985. In addition, the funding provided by Houston Safari Club will support the development of trained volunteer mentors for the program. 

Alert: TABC Proposed Rule Changes and Their Effect on Houston Safari Club

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) is the state agency that regulates all phases of the alcoholic beverage industry in Texas. The TABC has proposed amendments to Administrative Rule 36.1, relating to the Possession and Sale of Firearms on Licensed Premises. Licensed Premises is loosely defined as any venue at which TABC has authorized the sale or consumption of alcohol. This includes the Woodlands Waterway Marriott, The Houston Racquet Club, and any public facility that holds a TABC liquor license. Of particular interest is proposed subsection (c) of Rule Administrative 36.1 which references the rules dealing with certain firearms sales, firing ranges and gun shows at on-premises locations.

Houston Safari Club Partners with Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation

Houston, TX – Houston Safari Club (HSC) is pleased to announce its partnership with the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) as a title sponsor of the Texas Bass, Bucks and Boots event. This regional event brings together state legislators and members of the sportsmen’s community to enjoy an evening of camaraderie and discuss the future of America’s hunting and angling traditions. The occasion will take place September 25th in Houston, TX. In addition, Houston Safari Club is providing support for the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation’s 25th Banquet & Auction, to be held September 10th in Washington, D.C. This annual event provides an opportunity for the outdoor sporting community, supporters and friends of CSF to recognize the tremendous work of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (CSC) in keeping sportsmen and women in the field and on the water.
