Houston Safari Club joined other conservation organizations in supporting the passage of H.R. 5608, the Chronic Wasting Disease Research and Management Act. In a letter to Debbie Stabenow, Chairwoman, U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition & Forestry, and John Boozman, Ranking Member, U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition & Forestry, the alliance pointed out that Chronic Wasting Disease, or CWD, is a crisis that threatens the future of hunting in North America and the health of deer, elk, and moose populations.
