Houston Safari Club Awards 24 Scholarships


Houston, TX – Houston Safari Club (HSC) is pleased to announce the recent award of twenty four (24) scholarships as part of its Dan L. Duncan Scholarship awards. The winners were chosen from hundreds of qualified applicants.

These applicants must have a desire to protect and promote the sport of hunting and the principles of conservation. Applicants for these scholarships are undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Wildlife Management and/or Range Management. The ideal candidate must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership qualities and complete a thorough application process including recommendations, transcript reviews, and in some cases, providing thesis information.

Deb Cunningham, Scholarship Committee Chair, states “The HSC Dan L. Duncan Scholarship is the perfect partnership…dedicated, hard-working students with a passion for wildlife and wildlife management related studies, wildlife biologists, ranch management and wildlife conservation, coupled with the idea of a generous Hunter/conservationist, Dan Duncan and like-minded HSC generous sponsor/donors who make their dreams a reality.”

Following a thorough review of all applicants, the Scholarship Selection Committee awarded twenty-four scholarships. HSC, in conjunction with its charitable arm the American Conservation and Education Society (ACES), has awarded scholarships of over $1.75 million dollars.
