Houston Safari Club Foundation Awards 25 Scholarships


Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is proud to announce the award of twenty-five (25) scholarships as part of its Dan L. Duncan Scholarship Program. The winners were chosen from hundreds of extremely qualified applicants.

Recipients must have a desire to protect and promote the sport of hunting and the principles of conservation. Applicants for these scholarships are undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Wildlife Management and/or Range Management. Recipients also demonstrate academic excellence, leadership qualities and complete a thorough application process including recommendations, transcript reviews, and in some cases, providing thesis information.  

Scholarship Committee Chair, Deb Cunningham, states “It has been an honor to continue the legacy of Dan Duncan’s commitment to education for students in the wildlife management and wildlife conservation and related studies by serving on the HSCDLD Scholarship Committee with an outstanding group of like-minded hunter/conservationists.  My sincere thanks for the continued support of our generous HSC/DLD Scholarship Sponsors.”

The HSCF/DLD Scholarship Selection Committee awarded twenty-five (25) $6,000 scholarships, totaling $150,000. To date, HSCF has awarded 525 scholarships totaling $2.1 million dollars.
